My name’s Sjors (that’s pronounced like the majestic crossbreed between shark and horse: the shorse). I just turned 30, and I live in a small beach town near Lisbon, Portugal. I like to go on adventures, often with my bike.

I use this website to publish stories about the races I participate in, the adventures I go on, stuff I think about at work and anything else that bubbles up when I pick up a pen.

I have a bachelor’s in Sociology, and a master’s in Persuasive Communications. I’m the son of a car salesman, so that master’s degree seemed like a logical step. Words, and their power to ignite change, fascinate me. I’ve spent the last 8 years working in startups in various, mainly commercial roles. I currently head up a small marketing team at pr.co where we build software to help socially-conscious brands communicate their news with journalists.

I’m passionate about many things. As I’m writing this, those things include generally being outdoors, anything cycling, human behaviour, music, businesses as change-makers, among many other things. I’m hopeful that we can make this world better than it currently is, and I’m keen to be an active part of that change.

“Waste no more time wondering about what a good man should be. Be one.”
